My absolute favorite type of music is what I’ve commonly seem classified as “punk cabaret” and “dark cabaret”. It includes artists like The Dresden Dolls and Nervous Cabaret. I’m very much into offbeat things and this music fits my personality perfectly. The sound and style of the pianos and brass instruments makes great dancing and breaks the mold of what is normally heard. I also love the dark and sometimes warped lyrics and topics in punk cabaret. Both musically and lyrically, punk cabaret takes me to to a completely different time. A time centered on things like corsets, Vaudeville, and the Bohemian lifestyle.
